SMB actually means Redirect to SMB , this attack allows the hacker to hack into any machine and can access it over the offline and online and the hackers can easily access all the private data and credentials of user that may include all the ID passwords and also many more media data , that user have store in their computer. and this attack was firstly developed from the 1997 and this vulnerability was exposed by Aaron Spangler, the one who discovered that URLs which begin with the word ‘File’ that would prompt the Windows OS to authenticate via SMB called as server message block at the IP address used in the crafted URL .

Also This bug is so severe that it not only affects all of the current versions of Windows but also the software from at least 31 companies including Adobe, Apple, Box, Microsoft, Oracle and Symantec – say the Cylance researchers.And this SMB flaw also affects the Flash and some GitHub clients and some Oracle software and several security applications that are avialable today.Also the experts at theCERT/CC at Carnegie Mellon University had warned that once an attacker is able to grab a victim’s credentials,and  also those passwords can be cracked offline too.
